Tips: How to remove sticker residue on acrylic or plastic♥

I recently bought a couple of acrylic drawers from Furniture Source in SM Mega mall.  Just a little trivia: I am into acrylic containers  and I love acrylic organizers.  Anyway, let's go back to business, peeling off sticker / adhesive tags, labels can leave sticky residue on the surfaces. (which is kinda eeeky).   Once you peel off the sticker it leaves a gummy residue, and is really hard to remove.  Honestly, I tried using warm water but find it ineffective and at the same time I am a little bothered because it may ruin the acrylic.  I don't want to use any scraper also since it may leave scratches on the surface.  Then I remembered that when I have this PVC bag I used baby oil to remove the stubborn dirt.  So I tried it. And Whoala! It was effective! Here's what I did.  Religiously pour baby oil on the sticker.  Make sure the whole sticker is coated with oil.   Then wait for 10 to 15 minutes and peel it off.  ...

My Accordion Organizer♥

Hi again! I know it's been a while... I really tried my best to make sure to upload a content every week but unfortunately last week... was really heartbreaking for our family.  My Lola (grand mother) passed away, she was the sister of my Lola (my mom's mother).  Yes people.. Covid is real... that is why we have to follow the protocols to protect each other.  Anyway, what I want to share with all of you is my accordion money/receipts organizer.  When you are a follower of this blog you know that I am into organizing.  There is nothing fancy about this organizer but it was really a big help for me.  I use this to segregate my receipts and money.   The organizer has 10 separate compartments and comes with label inserts.  It's A6 size so it can fit in your bag, in my case I just place it in my office table drawer. For the receipts:  I segregate them to monitor my daily expenses, receipts for reimbursements, bills payment and etc.  For ...

Money Saving tips 2021♥

source: Google Happy 2021!  I know we are all hoping that this will be a better year for all of us.  Last year was really very challenging:  we have lost a lot of people due to Covid-19 (personally I have an uncle who died of Covid), many have lost their jobs, more businesses closed down and that is super heart breaking.  But I still believe that everything will be alright...   What is the better way to start our 2021? Of course - An "Ipon Challenge"  On my previous posts I have shared some of my "ipon" tips... There are a lot of lessons learned during the quarantine period... especially if you don't have savings or an emergency fund.  My savings have helped me during those times and my small business also.  I started (really) saving money in 2014:  I have a savings account since 1998 what I meant about "really saving" was I have started investing, opening a time deposit and doing "Ipon" challenge.  In 2014 I opened my first time de...

Sunscreen: Yay or Nay? ♥

Do we really have to wear sunscreen?   Source: Google.com According to my cousin who is a dermatologist - Yes!   Aside from the harmful sun rays, the blue light from our mobile phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers have shown to be the cause of pigmentation and aging.  Don't get me wrong -  sun rays is good for the body its the best natural source of Vitamin D, but we have to protect our skin which is the largest organ in our body. Actually even before my cousin told me this, I am already using moisturizer and foundation with high SPF (Sun Protection Factor) since I use the computer more than 8 hours a day because of work and of course mobile phone because of my online boutique. She also told me that even if I am just at home it is very important to apply sunscreen. We should really start early in protecting our skin especially our face.  When I turned 30 I started using Pond's age miracle day and night cream and facial wash - better to start ...

Money saving matters♥

Source: Google There are a lot of learnings that happened during this quarantine.  Maybe one of the positive things that  Covid-19 has taught everyone : having an emergency fund.  When I started working I admit, I buy anything and everything that I wanted.  (A new phone every year, clothes and bags etc).   But 5 years after I realized that I need to save so I opened my savings account in China Bank (this is not actually my first, I had a Banco Filipino Happy Saver's Club account before).  This is where I started saving money from my salary.  Saving P500.00 to P1,000.00 per payday, is not that bad, right?! From that time I realized the importance of being frugal.  Though I still buy things that fascinates me but I think about it first 1 million times before splurging. (hihi)  As time goes by I wanted to grow my money more I tried researching for different ways, like investing my money, getting mutual funds and etc.  I also tried the ...

Project: Felt cloth rose♥

I wanted to share with all of you of the my projects at home during the ECQ.  Aside from cooking and baking I also love crafting.   Here are the things that you need: Felt cloth Pair of scissors Needle and thread Glue gun + glue stick or Fabric glue Trace the bottle cap on the felt cloth. Make 18 pcs. Cut the 18 pcs of round felt in half (making 36 pcs of petals) After sewing the petals together, gently pull to make ruffles. (Do it carefully so the thread with not break). Then roll slowly from end to end, putting some glue to hold the petals together. Now you have a gorgeous rose made out of felt cloth. Happy Crafting! Hope you all enjoy this project!♥ xo,  Chiq♥

DIY: Hello Kitty paper clips♥

Happy Monday!  It's been a while since I last shared a DIY project.  As far as I can remember it was also a Hello Kitty thingy:  (Hello Kitty pin cushion) . Now here is another DIY - Hello Kitty!♥ These past few days, I have been busy dressing up my planner... it's been a while that I did crafting so for 2 nights in a row I have been sleeping late for that.  While tinkering on my old crafting stuff I found an old Hello Kitty cable tie.  I bought this from Daiso Japan, and was not able to use them because the snap opens whenever I use them on my cables.  Good thing I did not throw them, I know that in time I can recycle that for something else. Well, now from a useless cable tie... I can use them as a bookmark or paper clip.  My planner and Hello Kitty collection would love to have them.  Here are the things you need: Hello Kitty cable tie (or any character that you like) Paper clips (got these gold paper clips from National Bo...

My Happy Planner 2016♥

Before January ends... I know I should make up my mind whether I will use my Starbucks planner or the light gold planner I got from Ever New.  I really wanted the rose gold : Kate Spade Wellesley zip around planner it's not available here in the Philippines and already out of stock in the US.   Rose gold to match my phone... (hihi)  But I really wanted something shimmery...  (shining, shimmering, splendid)  an eye-catching, glam, elegant and fabulous planner-That's it!  For the past years, I only jot down things to-do or make some notes on my planner.  I never really tried adding stickers, using different colors of pens or putting washi tapes: in short I don't glam it up.  Though I love crafting, because of my busy schedule I really don't have the time to do it.  I realized that I should've done that before... there's a lot that I missed -- The joy of creating and designing, and it's also a way of de-stressing after a long bu...

Office cubi Revamp #1♥

Baby steps... that's my goal or maybe slowly but surely.  I am an organizing freak!  O.C. (Obsessive Compulsive) when it comes to my things, files... well I guess everything.  As much as possible I want my stuff orderly both at home and office.  I always believe that you can work properly in an organized environment.  Last week, I started revamping my office work space.  Though I cannot do the re-arranging and working all at the same time.  But I know little by little I will get there.   First assignment: Side table  De-clutter :  This is easier said than done (hihi).  Need to throw a couple of used or old stuff.  There are times we need to let go of our old things, because it really eats up space (except for those with a little sentimental value which we need to weigh: which is important and not-so important).  From there you can start.   Reuse / Refurbish :  Instead of buying new containers or folder...

DIY: Hello Kitty pin cushion♥

Hey friends, I wanna to share this new project I made last week.  I recently went back to one of the things I love doing: designing and making headbands.  I have my own headband line in my online boutique: Little Fab Closet by Fabulousity by Chiq ♥.  Where I design and create headbands, they are all hand sewn (by moi).  (Unleashing the little Martha Stewart again in me... miss this!) Well before I started making my new headband design, I saw this Hello Kitty candy container I bought months ago from Watsons.  And that gave me an idea to do something out of it, to make it useful after the candies are consumed. Here are the materials you will need : Hello Kitty candy container Felt cloth Fiber fill Pencil Pair of scissors Needle and thread   Procedure: Trace the HelloKitty head on the felt cloth using the pencil. Cut the traced Hello Kitty head. Sew them together (using blanket stitch ). If you are half way finish, put fiberf...

Handbag Emergency Kit♥

Every woman's purse or handbag is "our" life!  It's like our own little cabinet that we carry wherever we go, right?!   When we need something we just dig in and Whoala!  I grew up seeing my mom and aunt having everything that we need in their bag.  When I started working they have inspired me to do the same.  Now I understand why woman's bag are undeniably heavy, because we carry everything around. I hope this would inspire you to have your own mini emergency kit.  (or maybe you also have your own).  Well of course this is aside from my Kikay kit, where my pressed or loose powder, lip and cheek tint and etc. goes.  What's inside my handbag emergency kit? Lip balm - Dry or chap lips emergency. And I don't usually wear lipstick.  Eye drops - Since I am in front of the computer for more eight hours, if my eyes becomes too strained it turns red and have blurred vision, this helps me soothe and relax my eyes. Plasters - very hand...

10 things that a woman should have on her work desk♥

Nowadays lots of women spend more time at work than at home.  Or may be if you have an home office space you spend a lot of time there. That's why it is considered an important space of us "women of the future".  Me, I like sprucing up my work space every now and then, I am a little OC: I always want all things on it's proper place. And of course I love cute and unique things.  Well this not about what's on our office desk, but what I have listed a couple of office desk emergency items.  (Because we can never predict if something happens, right?!) Mobile phone charger : this is a MUST!!! I have 2 mobile chargers since I have 2 phones, an iPhone and my ever reliable Nokia QWERTY phone.  I also carry a powerbank in my bag.  So it's no low batt phone for me wherever I go. Feminine products : Always be prepared and ready for ... period!  It's kinda embarrassing to ask for this from your office mates, it's a personal thing. Kikay kit : When we wer...

Quick tip: Office work space - Organizing forms & bills♥

Here's a quick tip to everyone!  This is how my work side table looks like.  My bank forms,  used envelopes (that I reuse/recycle), bills and etc. are placed in an old box that I wrapped with gift wrapper a couple of years ago.  It's already old, worn out, and needs to be replaced (ASAP).  After tidying up my home office work table at home, guess I need to do the same at my office work place.   First office organization project: my side table.   Found this letter rack from Daiso Japan home at P88.00 Whoala! Placed the envelopes on one side and bank forms on the other. In front I placed our office forms and vouchers.(love it!)♥ As for the bills, bank return slips, office leave forms, payslips I filed them separately so I can locate them easily.  I also do the same on my utilities bills at home.  I used old folders: wrapped and labeled it.  Isn't it pretty?♥  Do you have any organizing tips to ...
