Car Registration Renewal : in this time of pandemic♥

After 3 years, I need to register my car.  (I got my car last 2018 and for new vehicles the initial registration is valid for 3 years)  It's ending plate number is 5 so it should be registered on the 5th month which is May.  Well, we know during this time of pandemic it is really hard to move around, go to places and etc.  I am really developing anxiety in going to crowded places because I'm afraid of being infected with Covid-19.  Who is not afraid?  I go to work everyday but it's a different scenario if you go to public or government offices.  Based from my experience at work, most of my work mates who had Covid are liaison officers or messengers who usual goes to different offices, establishments and the like.  The Land Transportation Office (LTO) since last year have extended the validity of vehicle registration: you can check this on their website where they usually issue memorandum circulars or advisories https://lto.gov.ph .

I recently discovered that the JPV Emission testing center here in Gil Fernando Marikina offers assistance for Vehicle Registration Renewal aside from emission testing.  So it is a one stop shop for those who wanted to skip the long lines at the LTO offices, they will also do the stenciling for you.  Of course you have to prepare all the necessary documents for registration.  But this service that they offer is truly hassle-free and safe especially during this time.  I went there on a Friday morning then I got my renewed registration on the next business day which is Monday.   

Here are the requirements for Car Registration renewal:

1. Photocopy of the Certificate of Registration and Official Receipt of payment (OR/CR of your vehicle)
2. Tax payer's valid ID (in my case I provided my Driver's License and I affixed my signature on the photocopy )
3. Certificate of Emission Compliance (CEC)
4. Duly accomplished and approved motor vehicle inspection report
5. Car Insurance

They also assisted me on the last 3 requirements, I only provided 1 and 2.

Here is the breakdown of payment:

• Change Venue Fee : P100.00 (initial Registration of the car is in Quezon City)
• Legal Research Fund : P10.00
• MVUC : P1,600.00
• Computer fee: P169.06

Others:

• Emission test fee: P400.00
• Car insurance: P1,350.00

Hope this helps...  We really need this kind of service especially at this time...  If you are located far from Marikina you may ask the Emission testing center near you if they offer this kind of service.

Recipe : Korean Corn Dog♥

This pandemic has taught us to be innovative...  I have 2 nephews living with us and instead of having home delivery all the time, I try to cook for them during weekends.  Two weeks ago while I was watching videos on You Tube I came across Chef RV's Channel and one of the recipes he shared was the korean corn dog.  I also do old-fashioned corn dogs at home using hotcake mix so this is not really new to me.  But this corn dog recipe is done from scratch (not using hotcake mix this time, but you can use it also if you want - just follow the procedure on the carton/box). In this Korean corn dog recipe I used chopped french fries instead of the usual bread crumbs.

Ingredients:

6 pcs jumbo hotdogs cut into 3

1 box, 165grams Quick melt cheese cut into big cubes (same size as the hotdog) 

1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1-1/2 tbsp sugar

1/2 tbsp cooking oil

1 egg

6 tbsp fresh milk

1/4 cup water

1/2 tbsp vinegar

1/4 tsp salt

3 cups of chopped uncooked french fries.

Wooden skewers preferably thick ones or chopsticks

2 cups cooking/vegetable oil for frying

Procedure:

1. Beat egg, then add all the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, sugar, salt) once incorporated;
2. Add the wet ingredients (cooking oil, milk, water and vinegar);
3. Mix well until smooth; Set aside.
4. Pre heat sauce pan with the 2 cups of cooking oil on medium heat;
5. Place the batter in a tall glass for easy coating of the hot dogs and cheese.
6. Insert the hotdogs and quick melt cheese alternately on the stick 
7. Dip and coat the hotdog and cheese on the batter then roll on the uncooked french fries.
8. Deep fry until golden brown.
9. Drizzle with honey mustard sauce or mayonnaise and catsup.

The Furla Tessa Tote♥

Hi everyone!~ Here is another bag review,  it really took me a while (the bag is almost 2 years old) before doing this because I thought I have already did the review.  I bought this bag in December 2019 during our (with my sister's family) trip to Osaka Japan.  Yes, luckily we were able to do that before the lockdown.  It was our first trip to Japan and I really loved and enjoyed it.  I hope this pandemic will end soon, because we really wanted to go back there. (*wink).

The Furla Tessa Tote : This dual top handled bag is made from Saffiano leather with light gold hardware.  It also has a detachable and adjustable long strap.  

Color: Light pink

Interior of the bag : The bag has three (3) compartments : Zipped center compartment and magnetic enclosures on the remaining two (2).  The canvas lined bag also have two (2) pockets one slip/open and the other with zipper. It also has a metal plate engraved with "FURLA" and "Genuine leather" on the zipped pocket side.

Exterior of the bag : It's made of textured leather (saffiano) and has a "FURLA" on the face of the bag in light gold hardware.  It also comes with Furla's signature F bag charm.   

Size: Bag - 7" (H) x 9.5" (W) x 4" (D) ; Top handle drop - approx. 4" and Detachable/Adjustable Long  strap - 18"-24".

It was love at first sight when I saw the bag at the boutique.  The freshness of the light pink color really made me drool..  Not really your typical office bag because of the size but at the moment I am using this for work.  It can only hold my 2 mobile phones, card/coin purse, zipped wallet, car keys and medicine pouch.  I just hanged my alcohol bottle on the side of the strap. So guys I am using an extra bag...What I like about the bag is that I can wear it crossbody and because of it's size I can easily reach for the things I need especially at this time.  I do make it a point to sanitize my hands every time I touch anything.  And like what I have said you can wear it crossbody do you can have extra hands to carry your other stuff.  The bag is a bit heavy as compared to calfskin leather bags but I love structured and textured bag because it holds it shape and safe from scratches.  And since it's a light colored bag I cover the top handles with twilly.  I also added a Furla ribbon bag charm to make the bag more unique and more me.. Before I forget all the zipper pulls have the Furla stamping. ♥

Verdict: ♥♥♥♥ (4 hearts out of 5) I really love the bag, the only downside for me is it's a bit heavy... aside from that its aesthetics and versatility is perfect.

Review: Deco TP-link Home Mesh Wifi System♥

No more dead spots at home... Yes, at the moment I am really enjoying the Deco TP-Link Mesh I purchased last month and I am planning to add one more set. Our PLDT modem at home is located downstairs and my bedroom is on the second floor and for years I have been experiencing slow connection. And if I am at our kitchen - the connection is super slow or no connection at all. Honestly, I have second thoughts of buying because it might not work, but after a few months I gave in...

I went to Octagon Computer store and inquired : what are their Mesh systems available.  There are a couple of brands but the salesman told me that he would highly recommend the Deco TP-link aside from being their bestseller it has good performance reviews.  I bought the Deco TP-link E4 set of 3 mesh Wifi system at P5,500.00.

• Installation - It is easy to install.  But you have to download the DECO app in order to set up the Mesh system.  This application is available in Apple store and Google play;  After downloading the app you can start it's installation.  You have to launch the Deco app and just follow the instructions there.  Please note that one of the station/unit is attached directly to the modem so you have two (2) extras that you can place on the location where your internet connection is super slow.  In my case I placed one in my bedroom and the other one near the kitchen.

• Performance - From the time I have installed the mesh system at home, my connection absolutely improved.  I started experiencing fast, stable and lag-free connection. And if you are looking for parental control in your connection it has this feature, I have not tried it yet though.

• Design - I love it's modern and overall look, the tall and slim design resembles like a PC speaker.  It's beautiful and would really fit in any location where you will place it.  There is also a light on top of each unit that lights up in different colors, the color changes depends on the status of your connection. (Red when there is no connection and white if everything is doing well).

• Price - It is very affordable!  As I have said I bought it at P5,500.00 in Octagon Computer store, I also found some in Lazada (which is a bit cheaper) but I still choose to buy electronics from physical stores because of product warranty.

Verdict:  ♥♥♥♥♥ (5 out of 5)  At the moment - for using it for a month: I have not experience any problems and my connection really improved.  I am also planning to install additional stations at home.  So if you are looking for a Mesh home Wifi system I definitely recommend this.
