I'm Fur -ry God Mom!♥

It's really hard to think of things to share lately, especially during these times when we are not supposed to go out (too much).  I do go out just for work or do some errands, I am still afraid to go malling or go out of town because as we all know "Covid" is still there.  I have an uncle who died few months ago because of Covid that is why we are more paranoid and afraid of going out.  At the same time both of my parents are senior citizens and I live with them.

Covid really changed every thing... as they say we are living in the "new normal" with face masks and face shields.  Though normally I have my sanitizers with me (even before) but now I think I sanitize my hands every 15 minutes or every time I touched something.  As I have told my friends, it's normal to be "maarte" or a little over the top now in terms of health, safety and cleanliness during this time.

Mochi at 3 months

Anyway, last month we welcomed a new member in our family - Mochi.  Mochi is a (male) maltipoo dog, given by my sister.  She has 3 dogs already, that is why she decided to give it to me.  Taking care of a dog is not new to me, though I did not have a pet of my own.  Couple of years ago my niece had a Shih tzu, and I remember bathing him every weekend.  When they transferred to their new home they took him with them.  Mochi is almost 2 months when he came to our home and he was so tiny... now he just celebrated his 3rd month last November 15 and he's growing very fast.  He's super playful and the photo I have posted is one of the decent photos he had.  He is semi-potty trained and accidents still occur, but I hope soon he will be able to do it on his own.  At the moment he still stays in his crate or leashed. His arrival helped me and my family overcome anxiety and stress of not going out, especially my parents.

I have already trained him to sit, wait and go down... I am happy with these developments and hoping that I could teach him more tricks.  I am not a professional, I just watch videos on You tube on how to train a dog.  I have learned that I should always have edible treats ready every time we start our training and whenever he starts barking (too much) and nibbling.  I also bought him chew toys, aside from the fact  that he is teething (at 3 months), I want to him to have something to play with if ever I am at work.

I am not used to be called mom, since I am single...  I am the God mother or "Ninang" (in Tagalog) of almost all of my nephews and nieces -  so may maybe I can call myself as a "Fur God mom" or "Fur Ninang" of Mochi! (*wink).

Do you also have a maltipoo or any pet dog?  Please share something to me on the comment down below.  It will be much appreciated.

xo,
Chiq♥
