Care Bears♥

Care Bears is a group of colorful teddy bears with badges on their belly.  Elena Kucharik created them in the 1980s; she's an artist for American Greetings.  When it gained popularity, it was adapted into an animated series.  The Care Bears' belly badge represents their powers.

I was so into American Greeting Cards, stationery and merchandise at that time, and I never missed an episode of their TV series... In my mind, I always hear them say (up until now): "Care Bears Stare" as they unleash their badge powers.  

Originally, there were 10 Care Bear characters: Bedtime, Cheer, Friend, Funshine, Good Luck, Grumpy, Harmony, Love-A-Lot, Tender Heart and Wish.  Over time, more bears were introduced.

Back in the days, I never had a chance to own a Care Bear plushy.  Now that I am working, plushy pendants are so hot.  I was able to have a couple of Care Bears plushy bag pendants.  

Meet my Care Bears Collection:

Harmony Bear : This made me start the collection. I bought this from Miniso.  I was planning to get Love-A-Lot Bear but it was sold out already.  Harmony Bear is the purple Care Bear with 3 hearts according to Google when I searched her, her belly badge have evolved over time.  From a music note to intertwined hearts and now a smiling rainbow flower.  She loves to spread joy of music and sound.  She also embodies unity and togetherness.

Good Luck Bear : The green colored Care Bear with four leaf clover belly badge.  According to his bio, "He is loaded with luck and good things follow him wherever he goes."  

Cheer Bear : The pink Care bear with rainbow badge, she is known for her cheerful and positive personality.  She is the leader among the Care Bears and known for being optimistic and happy.  She always strives to spread joy and cheer.

Grumpy Bear : This blue bear with a rain cloud with raindrops belly badge, known for his grump expression.  He is reserved and moody, but he is kind and helpful.  According to his bio: "He may be a bit grumpy, but grumpiness reminds us that it's okay to be grumpy at times -- as long as it does not last that long."

Tender Heart Bear : Known to be the de facto Care Bears leader.  This Brown bear with red heart belly badge, "is a loving and lovable bear who knows a lot about helping others share their feelings.  Tender heart bear spreads love and makes it grow."  (according to Care Bears fandom).

Funshine Bear : He is the Yellow Care Bear with the sun wearing sunnies as his belly badge. He is very playful and wants to make sure is everybody is having a good time.  

Bedtime Bear : The Aqua Blue Bear helps everyone to have a good night's sleep.  He is the bear with blue crescent moon with a yellow star hanging on it's top crescent: on his belly badge.

Love-A-Lot Bear : She's the light pink Care Bear that is tasked to spread love everywhere like Cupid.  Her belly badge is two overlapping hearts in red and pink with yellow outline.  She believes in the power of love... and loves to make it grow wherever she goes.

Care Bears inspires us to be positive and be a blessing to others (even in our darkest times).  We have different personalities, we might not see each other eye to eye at times, but at the end of the day, everyone has a good side.  Let's be a Care Bear and Spread Love, Love, Love!♥
