Recipe: Chocolate Chip Cookies (Stove baked :No Oven, No Problem & Oven baked)♥

Stove baked Choco chip cookies

Oven baked Choco Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

1/2 cup softened butter
1-1/4 cups all purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup chocolate chips
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Procedure:

  • In a bowl whisk the softened butter, white and brown sugar. Mix well make sure there are no lumps.

  • Then add egg and the sifted flour, baking soda and salt. Mix until well combined.

  • Add the chocolate chips and the vanilla extract;

  • Chill the dough in the freezer for 30 minutes;

  • Scoop the dough with an ice cream scooper and place it on a greased pan or a parchment paper lined baking sheet/pan, leaving at least 4 inches space between cookies.  If you don't have an ice cream scooper you can use a spoon and make small balls with your hands.
  • For stove baked cookies: you need a big wok with metal rack inside and put the greased pan with cookies then cover. Cook the cookies on low heat for 30 minutes or until the edges becomes slightly brown.
  • For oven baked cookies: You need to pre heat the oven at 350°F (180°C).  Baked for 10 to 15 minutes until the edges are slightly brown.  For chewy cookies I baked it for 10 minutes.
  • Cool completely before serving.

If you find the recipe too sweet, you can adjust the amount of chocolate chips from 1 cup to 3/4 or 1/2 cup.  Please note that I used same recipe for both method, and they taste delish.  The recipe makes 10 to 12 cookies.

Enjoy and Happy Baking!

Visita Iglesia 2022♥

After two years I am so happy to do this again.  Visita Iglesia is a "panata" (vow), been doing this since our (with my sister and cousin) college days.  I remember we used to commute (by jeep) to go to 14 different churches.  Yes, we leveled it up to 14 instead of 7 that time but since we're still in the pandemic we only visited 7 churches this year.

First: Our Lady of the Nativity Parish (Cinco Hermanos)

Second:  Real Monasterio De Santa Clara De Manila (Katipunan, Quezon city)

Third: The Immaculate Conception Cathedral (Cubao, Quezon City)

Fourth: Christ the King Church (E.Rodriguez, Quezon city)

Fifth: National Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (New Manila, Quezon city)

Sixth: Carmel of St. Therese of the Child Jesus  (Gilmore, Quezon city)

Seventh: Our Lady of the Abandoned Church (Marikina city)

Though I am still afraid to go to places with lots of people, but it felt really good when I first stepped inside the church (1st after 2 years).  Especially when we went to St. Therese, because it is where we hear mass every Sunday and I really missed the place.

Happy Easter to all!♥
