Recently I shared the on how I dealt with my dog being a picky eater. Middle of last year he refuses to eat his dry dog food (kibbles), that's why I added wet dog food with it. I tried different brands it worked until the beginning of this year. Whenever I try to feed him with dry + wet dog food he just smell and not eat. That's why I decided to add boiled chicken or liver sometimes gizzard. There are also times when I add boiled finely chopped Baguio beans, broccoli, mashed sweet potato (camote) or mashed pumpkin (kalabasa). He loved it!

But last week (when the weather started to become hotter) he just smelled and ate a little. So the end result : he vomited the "yellow foam". We fur parents know what that means - Vomiting yellow foam means his stomach is empty.
When I got home from work last Friday (active as he is when I entered our home): he barked, jumped for joy to see me, did zoomies... but honestly I am super worried.

I gave him his dinner, at first he looked at me, then he ate it ... after a few minutes he vomited again (all the things he ate) - I almost cried. I know something is wrong. It's harder if your dog is not feeling well because they cannot speak or tell you what's painful or how they feel. I am so hands-on with Mochi that is why any changes with his usual ways - I know.
I called my VET cousin right away, and told her what happened. She gave me medication for his stomach upset and explained to me that during summer or when the temperature is hot - dogs tend to eat less. They also refrain from doing their usual activities, all they want to do was lay down on the floor. They eat less because when they consume food the more their bodies become hotter. Dog's temperature is 3 to 4 degrees higher than us (humans), and they don't have sweat glands that help them cool down.
After taking the medicine, he started eating. I tried changing his diet for the meantime. I did not gave him kibbles - just the boiled chicken, mashed pumpkin (which is good for his gut), a little rice and chicken soup/broth. I was so relieved when he finished all his meals.
The next morning, before I went to work: I prepared his meal (boil chicken with white rice, added few crushed kibbles) . He finished it! (I am a happy mum).
I hope and pray that he will be 100% well soon...♥
