January 2015: Arm candies styling round up ♥

I have this thing for piling or layering my arm candies.  (actually not just bracelets but also necklaces once in a while)  I love bracelets!  For me one isn't enough but 2 or 3 even 4 would just be fine! (*wink)  Though sometimes it really bothers me because of the clacking sound it makes especially when I am wearing resin bangles. (tiis ganda na lang).

Beginning this year I will try to share my accessory/jewelry styling hopefully I can do this weekly or monthly. (crossing my fingers here)

Bangles and cuffs are still a trend this year... No bracelet charms for the meantime, except for Pandora that is very popular these days.

Here are my picks for the month of January 2015:

1. My top pick! These are my current fave! H x H: Loving the color yellow + black for an added drama.  Pink is actually my favorite color, but nowadays I really love yellow things from bracelets, clothes and even bags.  Maybe because yellow is the color of sunshine, it will really make you smile! :)

2. For work I usually choose laid back not so "bongga" arm candies.  But I love sparkles!

3. Loving the cuffs + bangle combo in bold red!

 4. Hi-ho Silver!  Once in a while I wear silver or white gold accessories... gold compliments my skin better... that's why i usually opt in using two or three tone bracelets.

5. Gold x Tortoise: I don't know what it is with "tortoise" / acetate in accessories, I just like it.  But I think tortoise materials goes better with gold hardware.

Hope you like my choices!

Happy styling!

Fabchqdesigns: My Story pendant/bag charm♥

I miss doing this!  It's been a while... "Hello again! To my crafting tools, charms and especially my creative mind." (hi hi)  But honestly I missed doing what I really love to do: CRAFTING!  Making and designing my own accessories... That's how Fabulousity by Chiq♥ started, I sell items that I personally make and design (handmade) from bracelets, necklaces, bag charms and headbands.

Last year, I was really contemplating of going back to... (where I really started): well, that is doing new designs.  But due to busy schedules I wasn't able to squeeze it in. Maybe it also depends on my mood, sometimes I feel so "tamad" and my mind does not work. Can't think of what I really wanted to do.

I was thinking of something that would really inspire me.  Since everybody is going ga-ga over Pandora bracelets... I need to do something that would tell one's story or personality and it should be versatile. Versatility is important to me when creating something: well I have already done bracelets that you just add chains so you can wear it as a necklace and vice versa, wanted it to be that way.

I call this "My Story Pendant / Bag charm" where every pendant or bag charm is a different story...

Lobster lock on top so you can put it on your bag (as a bag charm) or  long necklace (as pendant).

I added a crystal and tassel for some splash of color and sparkle.

I can make one for you, if you like just visit my Facebook: I am just a PM away! :)

Fabchq calendar 2015 giveaway♥

It's a week before the first month of the year ends... Time really flies fast.  This is also one of the things I forgot to share last year.  Got to do this now or else... (nde na ito puede next year! haha)

As a way of saying "Thank you" to my loyal customers/clients I custom-made my own 2015 complimentary calendar.  So for every purchase on my online boutique you get a one for free.  Actually I also gave these cuties to my cousins, friends and office mates.

It's a desktop Paris-themed calendar in pink and black (traveling to Paris: is always a dream!) with my favorite quotes of Coco Chanel.  The calendar is very me! Well I am the one who made it! (*wink!)

I am not good in using Adobe Photoshop, for an old school computer wiz like me: I used paint to edit the month and date.  I really visualized the calendar on a plate stand, so the next problem was: Where can I get one?  Luckily, I found the perfect transparent mini plate stand at SM department store.  So my calendar has a cute transparent stand that would probably add some fabulousity on your desk! ♥

Dining experience at Patio Vera♥

I almost forgot to write about this: was supposed to share this dining experience last year, but because of the hectic holiday season I did not find time to do it.  It was our Department's last quarter meeting x Christmas get together rolled into one.  Every year my boss makes it a point that we have a simple celebration before the year ends.  Last year we dined at Patio Vera in Calumpang, Marikina City: a very intimate, cozy,  eclectic place that is just a couple of meters away from where I live. (not familiar with the place until that day)  I realized I am out of the coverage area already. (hahaha)

I never really expected that it was beautiful inside. (It's within a neighborhood where you see tricycles lined-up and sari-sari stores around the vicinity)  It was an old house turned into a resto bar.  We weren't able to take a lot of photos since it's a little dark and I did not have a chance to go around the place since there is a photo shoot going on. My boss reserved seats for us on the garden area.  Canopy with chandelier I so loved it!

i love chandeliers

Snapshots while waiting...

We had the following:

Paella de Mariscos (sorry I did not tried this because I don't eat rice), Pork spareribs (yummy! Pork was so tender tangy barbeque sauce I love!), Chorizo and cheese stuffed chicken (so-so, not really a fan of this one), Shrimps adobo sa aligue (can't try this also: allergies), Chorizo & Sausage Aglio Olio ( likey!)

Paella de Mariscos
Pork Spare ribs
These are the only photos that I can share since others were extremely blurred. :(

Oh I almost forgot our dessert! Tres leches cake: so creamy, melts in your mouth.  You need to pour the cream shot over the cake to complete the drama... Verdict: Yummy!♥

Tres leches cake
On billing out: This surprised me! Since the place is owned by a former "sapatero" , they will hand you the bill in a glammed up high heel shoes.. Geez, i think it's a size 8. (my size... *wink!)

Francis effect♥

Still have the "Francis Effect" in my nerves...

that magnetic SMILE!
Even though I did not have a chance to see him in person, I realized one thing... I don't need to see him to feel the presence of God.  Seeing him on the television or even on my pc through live streaming still gave me goosebumps and always end up in tears.  Yes, in tears (tears of joy).  His smile... his words... would really affect and move you.

Importance of the family:  we all experience this now globally, through the growth in technology.  People tend to just play or tinker their tablets and ipads instead of checking or talking to their parents, siblings especially their children.  I admit I am a bit guilty on this sometimes... When you see people around you at the mall, restos and etc. you will see all of them looking down at their tablets instead of talking to each other.  Going back to basics, I agree with Pope Francis on this.  Family is the central unit in the society.  This is where we mold our children to become good citizens.  Now I understand why the children of today is a lot different from us before.  "Kulang sa kalinga at gabay ng magulang".  Because of poverty parents are either OFW or both working: but this should not be an excuse.  "Communication" is still important.  And "us" or "we" the children we should always honor and respect our parents and grandparents.

Here is one of the things that Pope Francis mentioned on the Youth encounter at UST, and I quote:

"But women are capable of seeing things from a different angle to us, from a different eye. Women are able to pose questions that we, men, are not able to understand." - Pope Francis

I believe him totally!  We, women really see things in a different perspective: because we are sensitive and emotional.  That is why we say what we feel without being afraid of what others might think of us... we don't have those egos and pride that Men are protecting because they think that it will make them less-of-a-man.  Women are more real in expressing what we feel. (and we cry) That's why the Pope said it's okay to cry. "If we don't weep we not be better Christians."  (because we are only human)

Another quote that strucked me was the one he said at his Tacloban mass:

"I walk with you with my silent heart." - Pope Francis

This brought me into tears.  Aside from seeing our kababayans in Tacloban weeping as the Holy Father delivers his homily, this words moved me.  It's like God is whispering in my ears these words...  really felt His Divine presence.

I just hope that even if the Pope already left the Philippines, we should live by: all the things that he taught us.  Let's continue to be God's faithful servants...  (not only for the 5 days he is here but during our lifetime).  I am also truly happy to see that there are still a lot of Catholics here in the Philippines.  I know there are lot of religious groups now and I respect the choices of our kababayans, because at the end of the day: "We worship and pray to only One GOD".

Tidbits:

"Francis effect" is not only on me, but also to my nephew:  When I got home Saturday (January 17) from work I saw that he drew a sad face on his pad paper with the name of Pope Francis.  I asked him: "Lance, why is the face sad and crying?" Then he said: "That was me Ninang and I want to see him in person." I asked his dad (my brother), he told me when he was watching the live telecast of the Tacloban mass, Lance told him that he wanted to see Pope Francis.  Then his dad told him that he's not here, he's in Leyte.  Then Lance pointed on the television and cried.

I talked to him and told him to just write a letter to Pope Francis and I will post it online so Pope Francis will be able to read his message, and that made him smile.

Lance is only 6 years old and I never thought that Pope Francis will have such an impact on him.  Such a magnetic personality - His Holiness Pope Francis.

My Farewell message:

I really wanted to learn Spanish since I was in high school:  (but it was removed from the curriculum).  But I want to give the Pope a message in his native dialect, and I hope it's right.

"Have a safe trip. Thank you for visiting the Philippines. We love you!"

Reasons to celebrate this January♥

Been busy updating all of the paper works I left last Christmas holiday.  Whew! Need to push the speed and reality button: "Hey girl! It's already 2015, time to work, work, work!" That's my mantra every morning.  A bit on the vacation mode still.  Year-end is something very hectic in every accountant's life (of course I am used to that already).

Yes, January is my favorite month... Lot of things to celebrate this month!♥

Aside from my birthday which falls on tomorrow (15th) and 22 years in service (can't believe that I have been working that long: since Jan 11, 1993), the most important event that will happen this year is: Pope Francis' visit here in the Philippines: Manila/Tacloban (January 15-19).  I am really hoping that I could see him in person.  The only problem is me having "vertigo": ever since I had this I refrained from going to crowded places, oh how I wish I could go to my Alma Mater (UST) on the 18th to see him.

When I first heard about that he is coming his here in our country, I was really excited and felt blessed already since he is coming on my birthday.  Pope Francis has been an icon of peace and humility.  I hope with his visit: many Filipinos will strengthen their more, not only during or a couple of weeks after but during their lifetime.

"Dear Lord,

Thank you for sending us Pope Francis as an instrument of your love to the Philippines.
Give him strength and protection not only during his visit but always.
Hope that he will touch the hearts of all the Filipino people especially those who had gone astray.

I ask this through Christ our Lord and...
Through the intercession of our Blessed Virgin Mary..

Amen"

Wishlist 2015♥

My first post for 2015! I wish I could do this more often this year.

2014 has been a good year for me, though there are some bumps on the last quarter of the year I still believe that everything will be alright.  Hoping that this new year will bring all of us more blessings and good health.  I am not used in making resolutions: I just try to do what I think is right.  I know that it's easier said than done.(*wink)  Yes. There are times that we don't go to the "matuwid na daan" but actually if ever we go astray it makes us more wiser: because we learn from those mistakes.  We are only human that sometimes we do things impulsively and later on regret it.  But the most important thing about it is that we LEARN from it and try our best not to do it again.  Don't have resolutions but I do have wishes for this year.

World peace! Very beauty pageant answer.(hi hi)  Kidding aside, we really need to wish for this.  When you watch local and international news.. US vs NoKor, the ISIS group in the Middle East, Rift between Russia and Ukraine : I am pretty sure you will also add this to your wishlist.

Good health for my family, relatives and friends... everybody!  Hoping that Ebola outbreak will end soon... I am truly happy that we are still Ebola-free here in the Philippines.

For my online boutique (Fabulousity by Chiq♥) to still flourish this 2015! 2014 was a great year and I am very thankful to all those who patronized and supported it.  To my customers who became my friends...and of course my friends.  Here's to another year of partnership with all of you!♥

Career to be more successful!  In a few days I will be 22 years in service (that was long, right?!) as a Cost accountant.  Hoping that our Company's President and CEO will continue believing in me.  Aside from I love my work, he is the only reason for staying in the company.

Bountiful blessings so I can be financially stable so I can provide for my family (esp.my retired parents) and hoping to invest on real property.

Lastly, a new bag! (this is me *wink)

Happy New Year!♥
