Site visit at Beverly Place Pampanga♥

One rainy Wednesday, when I together with our controller, my boss and an audit staff were given a special assignment by our EVP to visit our SLRDI's Beverly Place Golf Clubhouse.  It's been a while since I visited any of the projects of company.  When I first started handling the cost accounting section of SLRDI: twice or thrice a month I go on site inspection or visit.

Two and a half hours drive from Metro Manila, left at about 9:30 in the morning and was at Beverly place around 11:45am.

When I went down the van: It was really a breathe of fresh air: (outside the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila).  As i entered the clubhouse's lobby, seeing the view of the 9-hole golf course is really very serene.

Was not able to tour the whole golf clubhouse since our main agenda is to meet with the Club's General Manager and it's drizzling outside... but after seeing the outcome of the project: which I was the one who accumulated the development cost for it (both the golf course golf clubhouse and actually the whole project)... was really satisfied with the look and ambiance of the club.

To all golf enthusiasts visit our Beverly Place golf course it's a 9-hole golf course at the moment but 10 to 18 hole are now under construction.  You may also want to dine at our Swing and Dine Restaurant at the Golf club: their Garlic chicken is really a must try!

On our way home we passed by Susie's Cuisine to buy pasalubong... I really loved their kutsinta and old-fashion sapin-sapin.

and this is all that's left :)

Is it still safe in the Philippines?

The case of Kae Davantes caught my attention.  I was really devastated reading her story and how she was killed.  When I first learned about it... I froze and it's like my world stopped for a few seconds.  I also drive and there are times that I go out with my friends.  This question popped into my mind. So how safe it is to drive in the Metro?

Few months ago, my niece was robbed inside a jeepney when she was on the way home from school, and it's daylight!  I remember when she called me and she was crying: "Ninang, na hold up po ako!  Hindi ko po matawagan si mommy sa landline kaya kayo po tinawagan ko." I was totally shocked and asked her if she's alright and where is she.  She told me: "Nasa police station po ako." told her i will call her mom and will tell her to fetch you there.  Luckily she was not hurt. She was in trauma for a couple of weeks, afraid of going to school by herself.  Now the case of Kae... having her own car, not commuting then this happened to her.  And there is no lead to her case...

Hopefully instead of sensationalizing the pork barrel issue (file a case to Napoles and the lawmakers that they find guilty and leave the case to the DOJ), why don't the government: prioritize the safety of the citizens (we are taxpayers also: we need more police visibility). "Nakakauyam na yung issue ng pork barrel sa news!"

So how safe is safe?

They say "it's more FUN in the Philippines!" so how can we attract tourists? if we are not safe...now let's ask ourselves... and the government... "Is it still safe here in the Philippines?"  (killing of Kae, stand-off in Zamboanga, day to day crimes: hold up, snatching).

Hope the government will do something about this... Remember "Kami ang BOSS nyo!"

Justice for you KAE! and to all the victims of INJUSTICE and CRIME!

Linear + Rose Gold♥

Few times that I share my #ootd (outfit of the day) or #hereswhatiamwearing on Instagram and Facebook. One of my most favorite local clothing brand is Plains and Prints.  I love their outfits: especially their dresses... it's unique and really world class. (Quezon, Okinawa, Matryoskha, Bradley, Manila dresses to name a few) I remember when I was in Sydney (2011) a lot of my friends who saw the Plains and prints dress that I wore in one of my meet ups loved it!

Recently they launched Ms. Anne Curtis as their brand ambassador: the Bobier dress (Linear Blue print collection) caught my attention right away.

Love the details, prints... and the sequined collar necklace that goes with it!

Blue print design is ♥
Honestly you need not add additional accessories to it, but since I really can't leave the house without accessorizing... I added Rose gold accessories to give some touch of fabulousity!

Happy Grandparents Day!♥: with LOVE & GRATITUDE

Santos-Esguerra 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary 2004
Today I honor you Lolo Guling and Lola Luming!  I grew up with them... as I recall my dad's siblings would usually tease me as that I was the "bunso" of my Lolo and Lola.

I really look up to them, they have been my inspiration and role model... My Lolo and Lola were able to send all their children (all 8 of them: all degree holders) to school even though they did not really finish college.  Lolo Guiling was able to reach 1st year college took up Accounting but had to stop because of the war and my Lola Luming was up to Grade 4 only.  But that never stopped them from achieving their goals: for their 8 children to have a college degree and to have their own house. They have a store in the "palengke" selling notions, school supplies, dressmaking materials and etc...where they get their day to day income..and this is where I first had my experience in selling or trading. I was my Lolo's stockclerk... maybe that is why I ended taking up Accounting in college.

I was 12 when they celebrated their 50th  Golden Wedding anniversary in June 1984 and 22 on their 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary (June 1994).  Two milestones for them, right!

Both were given awards: Lolo Guiling was awarded an "Ulirang Ama award in 1994 of Barangay San Jose" and Lola Luming as the "Oldest Senior Citizen of Barangay San Jose for 2 consecutive years 2011 and 2012"

There are times I still miss them... but I know they are watching over us! (especially me...)  They are together now... in heaven.  Lolo joined the Lord in 1996 and Lola in 2012... As they say... "parang kulang pa din.." it's never enough... But I know they have fulfilled their every wish... for their children and grandchildren...

Better to spend quality time with your grandparents... because you will never know... For me even if I have spent a lot of time with them... its still painful when they left...(still miss going to the market and cooking with my Lola... and midnight snack with Lolo while watching wrestling)...but at least I have a lot of memories to reminisce every time I miss them...
